About St George's Parish Choir

Music at the Parish Church of St George

The Parish Choir of Men and Boys makes a valuable contribution to the life and worship at Saint George’s. The choir sings at two services every Sunday during term time: the sung Eucharist at 11.00am and Choral Evensong at 5.00pm, in addition to other special occasions in the church year, such as Christmas and Easter. The choir also sings further afield at church services and concerts.

Many of the boy choristers go on to sing in the men’s section of the choir when their voices break, continuing until they leave the area to go to college or university and a number have been awarded choral scholarships.

There is also a mixed adult Chamber Choir, which sings Choral Evensong once a month.

The Director of Music welcomes enquiries from anyone interested in joining the choirs.
